Welcome to Fall at Rocky Knob (and trail closure on Sunday 9/9 from 8am to 12pm)

Conditions could not be better at Rocky Knob. All the trails are open and they are in prime shape. This weekend marks the beginning of the fall event season  with  the park will hosting both an Appalachian State Mountain Bike Race and a Specialized Bike Demo.

Saturday’s race events will consist of a challenging uphill time trial, Short Track event that promises for some excitement and a short climb, and finishing with Super D using the upper mountain. Super D will be TT format. Sunday at Rocky Knob will be a challenging Cross Country course with imposing climbs, and super fast downhills. Be mindful that parking is limited try and carpool if possible. On Sunday, the park will close the trails from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Full schedule is here.

Also on Saturday, Boone Bike and Touring will bring a fleet of Specialized bikes to demo for free. Come test the best 2013 bikes including several carbon steeds. Detailed info is here.
