The Mud Season: A Temporary Closure

It was bound to happen. Our days of pleasant fall riding and excellent trail conditions would not last into the winter. Last week’s four inches of rain, days of repeated freeze/thaw cycles, another dose of heavy rain, and traffic on the trails have created mud bogs big enough to swallow small bikers. After much consideration, we have decided to temporarily close the trails at Rocky Knob. We are doing this to prevent further damage and to reduce the labor required to repair the ruts, holes, and bogs. The pump track is in very poor shape and should be avoided too.We will monitor conditions closely and re-open the trails as soon as possible. Thanks for your cooperation in avoiding the trails.
